Return Policy Overview
- Complaint-Based Returns: Items are entitled to be refunded or returned based on legitimate complaints. We take all customer concerns seriously and will work with you to resolve any issues with your purchase.
- Case-by-Case Exchanges: Exchanges are granted on a case-by-case basis. If you need to exchange an item for a different size, model, or product, contact us to discuss your specific situation. We're flexible and want to find the best solution for you.
- 30-Day Return Window: Our standard return policy allows returns within 30 days of delivery. This gives you ample time to inspect your purchase and ensure it meets your needs.
- Restocking Fee: A 10% restocking fee applies to all new item returns. This fee covers the cost of inspection, repackaging, and restocking the merchandise. The restocking fee will be deducted from your refund amount.
- Shipping Costs: Original shipping charges are non-refundable. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer unless the item is defective or we made an error in your order.
- Condition Requirements: Returned items must be in new, unused, and resalable condition with all original packaging, accessories, manuals, and documentation included.
❌ Non-Returnable Items
IMPORTANT: Certain items cannot be returned once installed or used for safety, quality, and resale reasons.
- Fuel System Components: Carburetors, fuel pumps, fuel lines, fuel filters, gas tanks, and other fuel system parts cannot be returned once installed. These items come into direct contact with gasoline and cannot be resold as new.
- Electrical Components: Magnetos, ignition coils, voltage regulators, starters, alternators, solenoids, and other electrical parts cannot be returned once installed. Once connected to an electrical system, these parts cannot be verified as unused.
- Why These Restrictions? Items that have been installed or exposed to fuel, oil, or electrical systems cannot be safely verified as new or unused. This policy protects all our customers by ensuring they receive only brand-new, uncontaminated parts.

Return Authorization Required
⚠️ CRITICAL: No merchandise can be returned without prior authorization from Griggs Lawn and Tractor.
How to Request a Return:
- Step 1 - Contact Us: Before shipping anything back, contact us via phone at 757-742-6232 or email at sales@griggslawnandtractor.net to request a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number.
- Step 2 - Provide Details: Have your order number, item description, and reason for return ready. This helps us process your request quickly.
- Step 3 - Receive RMA Number: We'll issue you an RMA number and provide return shipping instructions. The RMA number is typically provided within 1 business day.
- Step 4 - Package Item: Carefully package the item with all original materials. Clearly write the RMA number on the outside of the package.
- Step 5 - Ship Item: Ship the package to the address provided. We recommend using a trackable shipping method and keeping your receipt.
- Step 6 - Refund Processing: Once we receive and inspect your return, your refund will be processed within 5-7 business days to your original payment method.
NO CREDIT WITHOUT RMA: Credit will NOT be issued for merchandise returned without a valid Return Merchandise Authorization number. Unauthorized returns may be refused or sent back to you at your expense.
Return Tips & Best Practices
- Inspect Upon Delivery: Check your order immediately upon delivery. Report any damage, defects, or shipping issues within 48 hours.
- Keep Original Packaging: Save all boxes, foam inserts, and packaging materials until you're sure you'll keep the item. This makes returns much easier.
- Take Photos: If returning due to damage or defect, take clear photos to include with your RMA request. This speeds up the approval process.
- Test Before Installing: If possible, test electrical or fuel components before installation (for items where testing is feasible without installation).
- Ask Questions First: Not sure if an item will work? Call us before ordering. Our team can help you verify compatibility and avoid unnecessary returns.
Defective or Wrong Items
We make mistakes too. If we sent the wrong item or you received a defective product:
- No Restocking Fee: Defective items or shipping errors are not subject to the 10% restocking fee.
- Free Return Shipping: We'll provide a prepaid return label or reimburse your return shipping costs for defective items or our errors.
- Fast Replacement: We'll send a replacement item immediately or issue a full refund including original shipping costs—your choice.
- Report Immediately: Contact us as soon as you discover an issue. The faster we know, the faster we can fix it.
